From time to time I get asked if I can build a layout for someone.

First of all I am not a full-time model railway professional. I have a daytime job and article-writing, book-writing and layout building are done in my spare time - which also has to be shared with family commitments. As a result I do not have a great deal of time to spare for jobs for other people. However, I will consider requests to build, or part-build, Shake-the-Box style layouts.

Please bear in mind that I won't sell my spare time at National Minimum Wage rates and won't work 'on site' (unless my family can come with me to your Greek island villa).

As a rough guide a completed model like Walton (without stock) would cost in the region of £1900 and Charmouth £2000.
